Starting at 11.00 (GMT+2) at Justus Lipsius building in Brussels, the Council of General Affairs will discuss the work programme proposed by the Greek presidency for the duration of its term of office.

It will then start preparations for the European Council meeting on 20-21 March and take note of a draft annotated agenda.

Finally the Council that will be chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Evangelos Venizelos, will be invited to take a decision on the proposal for genetically modified maize 1507 to be made available on the market, for cultivation.

A presidency press conference will be held after the end of the meeting (+/-14.00/GMT +2).
