The provisional website of the upcoming Greek Presidency of the Council of the European Union will function until the end of December 2013, when it will be replaced by its final version.
The provisional website was developed by a Website and Communications team from the General Secretariat of Information and Communication - General Secretariat of Mass Media, under the supervision of the Greek Presidency Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Institute of Communications and Computer Systems of the National Technical University of Athens is responsible for the technical development and maintenance of the site and the Greek graphic design company “Beetroot” developed the presidency's visual identity.
With regards to website design and information structure, best practices were used following official EU guidelines, and the architecture pattern of previous Presidency sites. The Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU kindly offered valuable advice and material.
The provisional site uses and promotes information and audiovisual material from the official websites of the European Union and its institutional bodies.
Its content will be regularly improved and updated so that users can get more information on activities and events.
Its goal is to serve as a simple, comprehensive, accurate and handy information tool on matters related to the upcoming Greek Presidency as well as the European Union.
The graphic design gives a preview of the visual identity and the broader communication strategy of the upcoming Greek Presidency whose final version along with the official logo will be presented within the next few days.
