29.11.2013
The Directors General for Industrial Relations of the EU Member States will hold their biannual meeting in Athens, on Friday, November 29, 2013.
At the beginning of the meeting, the priorities of the Greek Presidency in the social affairs field will be presented.
The main themes of the discussions between the Directors General for Industrial Relations and representatives of the Commission will include developments regarding Labour Law and Industrial Relations in the Member States; more specifically, the internal flexibility of companies, the operational consequences of REFIT (i.e. the Regulatory Fitness and Performance Programme), as well as a presentation of current and forthcoming activities in the fields of Social dialogue at EU level and Labour law.
The High Level Group of Directors-General for Industrial Relations is drawn from all EU Member States and provides the European Commission with help and advice either on the group’s own initiative or upon request. This cooperation is important as industrial relations are increasingly transnational and so initiatives in this field need to be taken in close cooperation between the Commission and the relevant institutions in the EU Member States.
