Greek Minister of Justice Charalampos Athanassiou to present the priorities of the upcoming Greek Presidency in the field of Justice
Greek Minister of Justice, Transparency and Human Rights, Charalampos Athanassiou will present the priorities of the upcoming Greek Presidency of the Council of the EU in the field of Justice, on the second day of the Justice and Home Affairs Council in Brussels on 5-6 December.
The last formal European Justice and Home Affairs Council under the Lithuanian Presidency is expected to go through a heavy agenda. Among the issues to be discussed are key elements of the ‘one-stop-shop’ mechanism in the proposal for a General Data Protection Regulation, the European Account Preservation Order, the amendment of Council Regulation (EC) No 1346/2000 on insolvency proceedings and the Common European Sales Law.
In view of the assumption of the Presidency of the Council of the EU on 1 January 2014, Minister Athanassiou is today (5.12.2013) paying a courtesy visit to the European Court of Justice in Luxemburg, where he will meet with the President of the Court, Vassilios Skouris.
