The HIV/AIDS Prevention cluster meeting is an opportunity for European media, policy makers and subject matter experts to discuss how to improve the response to the epidemic using the best practices developed with the support of the 2nd EU Health Programme 2008-2013.
The meeting is structured along four specific sessions focused on how to increase the coverage and availability of prevention programmes in order to reach the most vulnerable populations groups. Examples will be given of tools available for improving the quality of the HIV/AIDS and co-infections prevention programmes while ensuring cost-effectiveness.
In the wider context of treatment as prevention, experts will share experiences and ideas with the aim of improving the quality of life of those persons living with HIV and reducing the risk of transmission and the development of resistance to antiretroviral therapy (ART).
