High-level Conference on Tourism: "Intense on-line Marketing and New Tools: Challenges and Perspectives"

Tuesday, 11 March 2014

Museum of Cycladic Art, 4 Neophytou Douka str., Athens

On the occasion of the Hellenic Presidency of the EU Council, the European Commission, the Ministry of Tourism of Greece and the Greek National Tourism Organisation organise a Conference on "Intense Οn-line Marketing and New Tools: Challenges and Perspectives."

The conference will offer participants the opportunity to share views and experiences related to the vital role of on-line tools and their incorporation into the postmodern communication mechanism. Furthermore, this conference questions the role of technology in an era of an increasingly ageing population. Are some of today’s inventions — all these gadgets and gizmos — just merely an act in using technology for technology’s sake?

Humanistic Marketing is a response to the currently growing mega-trend call for rethinking marketing, which raises ethical questions about the unfettered desire for more and more. How can marketing's principles and practice be founded on humanistic values such as altruism, empathy, respect, trustworthiness, honesty, integrity, care, compassion, intelligence, beauty, justice, and virtue?

This conference is repositioning the role of technology in the face of contemporary challenges for societal transformation, aiming to challenge, provoke, and inspire reflection, deliberation and debate.
