A seminar for URBACT organisations and partners entitled "Instruments for sustainable urban development in 2014-2020: how can cities best benefit from their use?" which is organised under the URBACT II Programme in cooperation with the Greek Presidency, will take place in Thessaloniki on 11 June.
The URBACT II Operational Programme is a European Network of Cities in the framework of the "European Territorial Cooperation", related to networking, cooperation and exchange of best practices between cities, local authorities and universities, in order to promote sustainable urban development.
The aim of this seminar is to promote the use of new tools 2014-2020 (Community-Led Local Development (CLLDs), Integrated Territorial Investments, and Sustainable Urban Development). Issues such as the design of these tools through operational programmes as well as their methods and good practices, will be analysed by European experts and European cities representatives.
Following the seminar, URBACT’s Technical Secretariat organises a closed workshop with European partners to exchange experiences and best practices of cities which have already designed or implemented the Community-Led Local Development (CLLDs).This workshop will take place on 12 June in Thessaloniki within the framework of the URBACT project.
The URBACT Steering Committee will meet on 13 June to discuss management issues related to the current programme.
