The Committee of Permanent Representatives (COREPER) is responsible for preparing Council meetings at ministerial level. 

 

In COREPER I Member States are represented by their deputy permanent representatives at the permanent representations in Brussels. COREPER I meetings deal with matters related to:

 

• Employment, social policy, health and consumer affairs 

• Competitiveness (internal market, industry and research) 

• Transport, telecommunications and energy 

• Agriculture and fisheries 

• Environment 

• Education, youth and culture
