The European Crime Prevention Network (EUCPN) was set up in 2001 and it was re-established eight years later. The EUCPN consists of a Board of National Representatives supported by a Secretariat. The position of the Board Chair rotates, and during the Greek Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the chair is Iakovos FARSEDAKIS.
The main aims of the EUCPN, in terms of crime prevention are: to identify good practices, accumulate and evaluate information, improve the exchange of ideas and information and contribute to developing local and national strategies, by organising meetings, seminars and conferences.
The Greek Presidency will focus on illegal immigration and corruption.
