Considering the challenges that the agriculture and rural development sector in Europe faces in a globalised system of market competition, particular attention will be given, during the Meeting, to the “Local identity and quality of the European agricultural products as a common comparative advantage and development tool of rural entrepreneurship”.

There will be two main topics for the discussion and workshops:
1.    Strengthening rural enterpreneurship by connecting the local production with other economic activities.
2.    Contribution of rural entrepreneurship to job creation and social cohesion

The invited Directors are Heads of Rural Development Policy and Rural Development Progammes Managing Authorities in the 28 EU Member States.

The meeting will be held at Zappeion Megaron on the 31st of March, 2014. The day after field trips will take place.
