Following the adoption of the revised legislation on public procurement and the directive on e-invoicing in public procurement, the European Commission is organising a conference on smart public procurement, under the auspices of the Hellenic Presidency of the Council of the EU. Smart procurement means lean and transparent procedures, less bureaucracy, a high level of professionalism, best value for money for public buyers and easy access for economic operators to public procurement. End-to-end e-procurement is an essential contributor to achieve these overarching objectives.
