An informal meeting of the Defence Policy Directors of the EU member states will take place in the Ministry of National Defence on the 23-24 January 2014. The items of the agenda to be discussed during the meeting will cover defence issues pertaining to the Common Security and Defence Policy, with emphasis on the implementation of the last December European Council respective conclusions.

The development of military capabilities of the EU, the operations conducted in the framework of the Common Security and Defence Policy, as well as the support of the Defence Industry, will constitute the core of the discussions.

The informal Defence Policy Directors’ meeting takes place every semester with the aim of preparing the upcoming Defence Ministers meeting that is scheduled this year, for the 20-21 February, at the Zappeion Megaron, in Athens.
