The meeting, which will be chaired by the Greek Minister of Infrastructure, Transport and Networks Michalis Chrisochoidis , will start at 10.00 CET.

 

First, the Council will be asked to agree on a general approach regarding a proposal intended to define new tasks to be carried out by the European Railway Agency. The draft regulation is part of the fourth railway package.

The Council is also expected to adopt its position on a proposal aimed at setting up a public-private partnership called Shift2Rail joint undertaking, which will manage a research and innovation work programme to support the development of better rail services in Europe.

 

Lastly, ministers will hold a policy debate on a Commission Communication, "Together towards competitive and resource-efficient urban mobility".

A presidency press conference will be held at the end of the meeting (around 13.00 CET).
