Wrapping up his visit to the Western Balkan countries, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Evangelos Venizelos met today (21.2.2014) in Tirana with Albania’s Foreign Minister Ditmir Bushati.
In statements, following the meeting, Venizelos noted inter alia:
• It is a main priority of the Greek Presidency that candidate-country status be granted to Albania by the end of the six months of the Greek Presidency.
• Greece and Albania are determined to work together to achieve this goal. Albania is already a member of NATO, and the European perspective is something that interests us very much as an element of stability and perspective for the Western Balkans.
