The Council meeting, starting at 10.00 (CET), will be chaired by Mr Ioannis VROUTSIS, minister for Employment, Social Protection and Welfare of Greece.

The Council will be called on to agree in principle on a decision on the tripartite social summit for growth and employment.

The Council is due to adopt a recommendation on a quality framework for traineeships.

It will hold a policy debate on the employment and social policy aspects of the 2014 European Semester exercise, adopting relevant documents. 

Ministers will have an exchange of views on the Europe 2020 strategy after the Commission's presentation of its communication on the EU 2020 headline targets.

Over lunch, ministers will discuss implementation issues of youth employment initiative and youth guarantee. 

The presidency will hold a press conference at the end of the meeting.
